I bought this item to help with keeping my bathroom door closed. My dog can open my bathroom door and likes to dig in the trash. This product has eliminated the problem with my door not staying closed. I'm very happy with my purchase so far. It did not come with any directions, but it's common sense how to use it. It also comes with some screws, but I didn't have to use them.
